Dr. Pallab Bandyopadhyay

Dr Pallab Bandyopadhyay is a Leadership Architect, Career Coach, Change and Transition Specialist. He has thirty years of successful professional experience in managing entire gamut of Human Resources Management with proven expertise in managing multicultural globally distributed knowledge professionals and collaboratively working with global business leaders to build shared leadership and consensus on complex people management issues. He and his team have been instrumental in making Sasken winner of the prestigious BT-Hewitt Best Employer/National HRD Excellence Award. He was also conferred the Super Achievers Award twice by Centre of Change Management/Institute of Fun and Joy at Work  and Indira Group and HR Leadership Award by Institute of Public Enterprise for outstanding achievements in the field of HR.

He has vast expertise in Change and Transition management having participated in twenty five M&A deals across the globe. Dr. Pallab was the past-President of NHRD Bangalore chapter and a member at the National HR and IR/ER committee of CII. He has been the member of the CII and NHRD team that developed the first HR competency model HR Compass in India. He has published several papers in leading HR journals and also the guest editor for NHRD Journal. He is also a visiting faculty in number of reputed business schools in India in the area of HRM/OB. Dr. Pallab is a research guide for PhD students under the Faculty of Management Symbiosis International, a deemed University and also a member of the current executive council of St Joseph College of Business Administration (SJCBA). He is also an expert reviewer at Harvard Business School (HBR) Press and an advisory member of the board for “Sukrut” a unique psychotherapeutic clinic and professional development centre based at Bangalore. Vice President & Head HR – IBM India / South Asia

DP, currently is Vice President, HR, IBM – India/ South Asia and member of board of directors for IBM India Pvt Ltd. A professional with over three decades experience in HR and Business. His experience spans across employee relations & Labor relations, Workforce management, Talent acquisition and development, succession planning and organization development. He has successfully worked with cross cultural teams across the globe, knitting them together to deliver business results. He is an avid learner, mentor and trusted advisor who is strong on collaboration.

Prior to taking on this role, DP was the Human Resources Leader for Middle East and Africa, for IBM. And before that, DP was BU HR leader for Global process services for the BPO business delivered out of India, Philippines. In addition to this he was also the Area HR leader for IBM in North India. DP joined IBM through the acquisition of Daksh eServices in 2004. DP also has experience of managing his own HR Consulting entity for few years and during that period he was associated with the IT & ITEs sector in addition to other industries. His association with IT and ITES sector goes back to year 2000. He was also for a short period Director – HR with Xansa Technology, a British Technology and Outsourcing Company which was later acquired by French Company Seteria.

He began his career in 1980, with the Eicher Group of Companies in India which is known for its strong HR practices in the automobile industry. Eicher was in manufacturing of Tractors, Light commercial vehicles and in Motorcycles. He subsequently, in 1987, joined Montari Industries Ltd. a diversified company with businesses in agrochemical. The Company in addition was in a Joint Venture with multinationals like Bausch & Lomb Inc., Bally of Switzerland, and Skata Inc. of Japan. This enabled him to gain an exposure to industries like eyewear, eye care, leather, and packaging. His last role with this organization was that of President – Corporate Affairs, managing Group HR, Legal, Company Secretarial work,leading promoter’s closely held manufacturing plants and Merchant Exports, before he decided to branch off on his own.

A Law Graduate from Delhi University and additionally holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (HR) from The University Business School, Chandigarh, India. He is actively involved in sharing his perspective on variety of HR subjects in various forums. He is an acknowledged as business leader rather than just and HR leader with eminence. He’s a marketing strategist, business development and sales professional, industry evangelist, online community developer, entrepreneur, analyst, advisor, philanthropist and writer. Kevin is currently the Director of Content Development at Peoplefluent, the leading provider of talent management solutions designed to support the entire workforce.

Kevin’s immediate passion and interest is to improve and elevate the employer-candidate-employee experience, which is why he’s part of the CandE Council for the 2013 Candidate Experience Awards and why he volunteers each month for Hirewire.org, a local organization to help job seekers in Santa Cruz County with career development and job search advice.
