Diversity is not a buzz word! Successful organizations take deliberate efforts to have a diversity program in place. They have experienced that having diverse workforce helped them further their company goals. Infact, When organization expand globally being able to adapt to the new culture and render services based on individual needs of people from a multi cultural environment will be very crucial. And so does the need for a Diverse Workforce!

The first part of Hire for Diversity was aired on 5th May and we enjoyed the discussion with our panel members speaking about planning, strategizing and Recruiting for diversity. We will now focus on some other important aspects of diversity like engagement, retention and Inclusion from a diversity perspective.

It is amongst the fastest growing healthcare IT firms in the US which has won many awards for employee focus, innovation and financial growth.

In his last role Sandeep was the Regional HR Director – IBM for one of the 25 Global regions of IBM spanning a stint of over 6 years.  He has had significant leadership stints with American Express in India as well as in the role of HR leader with KPMG in India as well as in consulting with KPMG in the Middle East. He is an Engineer and an MBA from FMS, BHU with a diploma in Executive Leadership from Cornell.  He follows his passions in photography, poetry writing and working with children.

Kalpana Veeraraghavan is the IBM India Workforce Diversity Manager and Gender Program Leader for the IBM Growth Market Unit (GMU).  Prior to that, she has been an HR Partner supporting the Financial Services Business with MetLife India & started her career as an HR Advisor with ITT Industries in Cleveland, Ohio.
Kalpana has Master’s degree in Organizational Communications & Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. Kalpana enjoys travelling & music

    As a HR professional am I considering the tacit/potential workforce who have compelling commitment with their parents or children or spouse or sibling !?
    Most times, am shying away to recruit such workforce or am not finding a way to exploit that work force!
